Our lockers are free to use and are described as backpack-sized. Bring your own padlock, or obtain one from reception for a €5 deposit. The deposit is for the padlock; it is not a locker rental fee. These details are listed in our booking conditions.
Using a locker during your stay
- Ask reception which locker to use and how it closes.
- Check that your belongings fit without forcing the door.
- Fit a suitable padlock and check that the door is locked before walking away.
- Keep the key with you, rather than inside the locker or unattended on your bed.
- Empty the locker when leaving and ask reception about returning a borrowed padlock.
What should you pack for it?
Backpack-sized is a practical description, not a published set of measurements. We have not confirmed exact dimensions or that a large suitcase will fit. If fit is essential, provide your bag dimensions when asking us before arrival. Do not buy a padlock to a guessed specification; an exact compatible shackle size is not published in the information used here.
A locker is a useful place for belongings that fit, but it is not a guarantee against loss. Keep your key secure and avoid leaving valuables unattended while the door is open.
Can you leave luggage in it after checkout?
Do not plan around that. Our terms state that we do not offer luggage storage at checkout. A locker used during your stay does not replace a departure-day storage arrangement. Our luggage guide explains the distinction.
When booking directly, you can use code HOSTELAMSTERDAM. Check the displayed price and conditions before confirming.
Correction to our older locker media
The older video and brochure describe buying a padlock. Our current Cloudbeds conditions offer a padlock from reception for a €5 deposit. The video also makes broader room and promotional claims; it does not confirm a locker for every guest, a free tour or a guaranteed lowest price.
The older PDF incorrectly lists the country as United States. We are in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Older PDF brochure — use the corrected country and padlock information above.
