The Amsterdam Dungeon combines live actors, dark humour and theatrical scares at Rokin 78 in central Amsterdam. From our White Tulip Hostel, it can form part of a city-centre afternoon, but we recommend booking around the visitor conditions below. Allow time for the queue as well as the performance, choose the right language and check whether the experience suits everyone in your group.
Amsterdam Dungeon tickets and booking in 2026
The official ticket page, checked on 12 September 2026, advertises an Online Saver ticket from €19, compared with €25 at the door. It recommends booking at least one day ahead for its best price. These are advertised rates, not a promise that every date has the lowest fare: confirm your chosen slot and final total before paying.

Your booked time lets you join the queue; it is not your guaranteed entrance time. Avoid booking a train or another timed attraction immediately after the expected finish.
How long does it take, and which language should you choose?
The Dungeon’s Dutch FAQ gives an approximate duration of 75 minutes. Its accessibility page says about 60 minutes, so its own pages differ. For planning, allow at least the longer estimate plus waiting time rather than relying on the old 80-minute claim.
Tours run in Dutch and English; ask at the box office for your preferred language. The FAQ says actors may select audience members, but participation is not compulsory. We suggest choosing this attraction for theatrical entertainment and atmosphere. Its dramatised scenes should not be treated as a complete factual history lesson.
Check the opening calendar for your actual date. A time shown for today does not establish the opening hours for your whole trip.
Age guidance and accessibility
The operator recommends ages 10 and over. Children aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by someone over 18. This is not a guarantee that every ten-year-old will enjoy the scares: consider the individual’s comfort with darkness and live performances before buying.
The accessibility guidance describes a partial wheelchair route that excludes the final show. Electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters are unsuitable, and only one wheelchair can enter at a time. There are also transfer requirements. Contact the attraction before purchasing if these affect your visit.
A qualifying carer arrangement requires advance confirmation, requested at least 48 hours ahead through info@theamsterdamdungeon.nl. Follow the operator’s instructions: its published procedure links the free companion ticket to a paid ticket bought at the box office after confirmation.
Getting there from our hostel and managing luggage
Our address is Warmoesstraat 87; use Rokin 78 as your destination. Ask our reception team for help finding the route, or use our Wi-Fi to check a walking map before leaving. We do not promise a fixed ten-minute journey: walking pace, crowds and your route affect it.
The Dungeon’s luggage policy excludes very large bags and suitcases and points visitors to external storage at Nieuwezijds Kolk. Check storage hours and charges separately. If this is your departure-day activity, plan storage before booking: under our Cloudbeds conditions, we do not store luggage after checkout.
