Amsterdam has both ticketed party cruises with silent-disco headphones and private boats where the activity is booked for your group. We suggest choosing between those formats first. A public ticket, a private package and a headphone supplement have different prices and inclusions; there is no single citywide silent-disco schedule or standard boat.
A public cruise with club entry
Amsterdam Boat Experience’s Flagship Party Cruise is advertised as a Saturday-night package from €39.95 per person. The listed cruise lasts 75 minutes and includes silent-disco headphones, beer, wine and soft drinks, plus a host and bartender. It departs from the Central Station area and drops passengers at Thorbeckeplein.
The package also lists an Escape wristband, club entry without the regular queue and a welcome drink. Admission still depends on the club’s rules and security assessment: the operator specifies 18+, government-issued photo ID, and restrictions on sportswear, tank tops, flip-flops/Crocs and bags larger than A4. Refusal for non-compliance can be without a refund. Confirm your chosen date, boarding point and terms when booking.
Two private-booking examples
Private Boat Amsterdam advertises a 90-minute private cruise from €45 per person, with a minimum group of ten. Its package lists a captain, an electric boat, silent disco and beer, wine and soft drinks. Extra sailing time, food and beverages are additional options. Request a quote to confirm the date and total for your group.
Eco Boats Amsterdam lists silent disco as a €7-per-person supplement to an eligible private boat with a skipper. That is not the whole cruise price. Its activity page says it is available on larger skippered boats for up to thirty people, and not on self-drive rentals.
We would compare a public departure first for one or two travellers. For a birthday or an established group, compare complete private quotes, including minimum charges. Divide the confirmed total by the number of people actually paying, rather than comparing a supplement with a full ticket.
What to confirm before paying
- Music: ask whether you get playlists, several headphone channels or a live DJ. A headset does not itself establish which entertainment is included.
- Boat facilities: confirm cover, heating, toilet facilities and boarding access for the assigned vessel. Our earlier claim that every boat is covered and heated was too broad.
- Inclusions: check the sailing time, drink selection, food, equipment charges and any club-entry conditions.
- Changes: read the operator’s cancellation, bad-weather and late-arrival terms before booking.
- Group needs: confirm age requirements and any mobility needs with the operator, especially if your plans include a separate nightclub.
Getting to the boat from our hostel
We are at Warmoesstraat 87. Use the exact boarding address on your confirmation in a live walking map and allow time to check in. “Near Central Station” is not precise enough to identify a jetty, and it does not mean every operator departs from the same place.
Check the disembarkation point too. A cruise ending at Thorbeckeplein leaves you in a different part of the centre from the station. Plan the rest of the evening around where you finish, rather than assuming a return to your starting point.
We suggest bringing a layer suitable for the forecast and shoes that work for boarding as well as any venue you plan to visit afterwards. Follow the crew’s instructions on board. Themed nights and specific music styles should be verified in the event listing; our earlier references to recurring eighties and Dutch-hits parties were not a confirmed programme.
