We suggest exploring Amsterdam Oost by choosing one main cultural stop and leaving time for the surrounding streets and parks. A museum visit, a market browse and an evening film have different schedules. This guide helps you combine them without assuming that every attraction is open or included in one tour.

Wereldmuseum: compare online and door prices
The official 2026 admission page, checked on 12 September, lists regular opening Tuesday–Sunday, 10:00–17:00. Selected holiday Mondays are exceptions, including 12 and 19 October 2026. Check the complete calendar for your date.
Adults aged 19+ pay €18 online or €20 at the door. Ages 6–18 pay €7.50 online or €9 at the door; children aged five and under enter free. Two paying adults therefore total €36 online versus €40 at the door, a €4 difference at the published rates. Check eligibility separately if you hold a museum or discount card.
The museum’s directions page gives Linnaeusstraat 2 and lists tram 14 from Central Station to Mauritskade. It also warns about works near Alexanderplein and transport changes. Use live directions before leaving rather than relying on an old fixed journey time.
Suriname Museum: use current visitor information
The museum’s current visitor page publishes Tuesday–Sunday hours of 10:00–17:00, with selected holiday Monday exceptions. Its prices are €17.50 for adults aged 18+, €13.95 for ages 13–17 and €9.95 for ages 6–12; ages 0–5 enter free. Two paying adults would total €35 at that rate.
Do not use the old “opening winter 2025” wording as a current announcement. Check the museum’s booking information for your visit. Its accessibility information says the mezzanine and basement cannot be reached by lift, so full access should not be assumed. Contact the museum if that affects your plans.
Studio/K for a film or an evening stop
Studio/K’s own information lists its address as Timorplein 62 and describes cinema and cultural programming. The published venue hours are 11:00–01:00 Sunday–Thursday and 11:00–02:00 Friday–Saturday. Its footer specifically says no lunch or dinner on Mondays.
Opening hours are not a film timetable. Choose a screening or event, check its language and ticket conditions, and plan food separately if you are going on a Monday. We have not confirmed that every event is free.
A park break, market browse or Flevopark extension
For a less structured part of the day, consider Oosterpark or check the Dappermarkt’s own information before visiting. We would leave room for browsing rather than promise particular dishes or stalls. The earlier claim of a new 2025 Oosterpark renovation is not needed to plan a visit and has not been retained.
If you extend your outing to Flevopark, ‘t Nieuwe Diep describes its building as the former Oetewaler Polder pumping station, built in 1880. It is not a windmill. The business makes several types of spirits; the earlier suggestion of more than 100 types of jenever confused its wider product range with one drink category. Check current tasting-room availability before making a special trip.
