We are a social hostel on Warmoesstraat in Amsterdam’s Red Light District, with Slainte Irish Pub downstairs and nightlife nearby. That does not mean unrestricted parties in our dorms: our house rules ask everyone to keep noise down after 22:00. Choose us for a central base and access to the local nightlife, while respecting guests who are sleeping.
The existing illustration describes us as relaxed. Treat that as a description of the social atmosphere, not a promise of silence: a location in a busy nightlife area can still involve street noise and guests returning late.
What makes our hostel social?
Our Slainte Irish Pub provides a place for food, drinks and meeting people. Our Cloudbeds terms list a 15% guest discount on food and drinks in the bar and daily Heineken happy hours with a buy-one-get-one-free offer. Ask the bar team for the current happy-hour times and conditions rather than assuming a particular evening schedule.
You can enjoy the neighbourhood independently or ask reception about activities. We do not promise an organised party, group outing or hostel-run pub crawl every night. Confirm the organiser, meeting point, price and any age or ID requirements before paying for an external activity.
Does no curfew mean you can party in the dorm?
No. Our published terms list no curfew and a 24-hour team, so a late return does not mean the hostel has closed for the night. The same terms ask guests to keep noise down after 22:00. Return quietly, avoid conversations or music in the dorm and prepare what you need before going out so you disturb sleeping roommates as little as possible.
Friends and visitors are allowed only between 10:00 and 22:00 under our house rules. Visitors who are not staying with us must leave their ID at reception. Dorms are non-smoking, and drug use is forbidden in both the hostel and bar. The smoking terrace does not override that drug-use rule.
Is it a good choice if you are a light sleeper?
Consider the location before booking. We cannot guarantee a quiet night or a soundproof room. A private room removes the need to share your sleeping space with unrelated guests, but does not guarantee freedom from street or building noise. Ask us about the available room options if noise is a deciding factor for your stay.
Check the room descriptions carefully: most room options use shared bathrooms. Do not assume that booking privately includes an ensuite bathroom. You can bring earplugs if you use them, and contact our team during your stay if another guest is disturbing you.
What practical details matter after a night out?
- Check-out is 10:00. Plan enough time to pack and leave your room.
- We do not offer luggage storage at check-out. Arrange an alternative if you are leaving Amsterdam later.
- Towels are free from reception and bed linen is included. You do not need to budget for the towel rental mentioned in older copy.
- Backpack-sized room lockers are free. Bring your own padlock or ask reception about the €5 padlock deposit listed in our terms.
If your first arrival will be late, contact us. Our terms say we hold beds for two hours after your given arrival time; no curfew does not replace the need to tell us about a delayed check-in.
How do you check prices and book?
