Our Cloudbeds terms list a 15% hostel-guest discount on food and drinks in the bar, plus daily Heineken happy hours with a buy-one-get-one-free offer. These are the published benefits we can point to. A rugby match does not itself establish an extra discount, extended happy hour or a special pint price.
How do you use the hostel guest discount?
Tell the bar team that you are staying with us and ask how they verify guest eligibility before you order. Our published terms state 15%, not the 15–25% range in the earlier article. Ask how the discount applies to your chosen items and whether any current offer already includes a reduction.
The confirmed code HOSTELAMSTERDAM is for direct accommodation bookings. It does not establish extra drink discounts or longer happy-hour access. Check room prices with the code on our Cloudbeds booking page; confirm bar benefits separately.
Will happy hour overlap with your match?
Ask the team for the current happy-hour times and conditions on the date you plan to visit. The published terms describe a daily Heineken offer but do not confirm the old article’s 15:00–16:00 and 19:00–20:00 slots. Do not plan your budget around those times without checking.
The offer names Heineken; it does not establish an equivalent deal on Guinness, spirits, cocktails or every drink. Check the serving size and applicable conditions before ordering. We have not confirmed whether it combines with the 15% guest discount.
How do you confirm the rugby broadcast?
Our official Slainte page confirms live sports and advises checking the current schedule. Give the team the match, competition, date and Amsterdam kick-off time. Ask whether it will be shown in full and whether commentary will be audible.
If fixtures overlap, do not assume that every match can be shown simultaneously. Confirm your preferred event, space for your group and whether reservations are possible. A room booking does not reserve a pub seat.
What should you budget for drinks?
Use the current menu and ask for the price in euros before ordering. We have removed the unsupported $4–$6 pint prices and beer-bucket claims. The old article did not establish that those offers belonged to Slainte in Amsterdam.
For a simple calculation, multiply the eligible menu total by 0.85 if the team confirms the 15% discount applies. A €20 eligible total would therefore become €17. This is an arithmetic example, not a menu price, and it assumes no other offer changes the calculation.
What if you are coming with a group?
Contact the pub ahead with your group size and match details. Check space, current kitchen hours and any booking conditions. The hostel’s 24-hour reception does not mean the pub or kitchen is open all night.
