Private Rooms at White Tulip Hostel Amsterdam

Yes, we offer private rooms at White Tulip Hostel Amsterdam, alongside beds in shared dorms. Our Cloudbeds listings include private options for two, three, four, five, six, eight and ten people. A private bedroom does not automatically come with a private bathroom: most listed private room types have shared facilities; the five-person ensuite has its own bathroom.

Which private room layouts can you book?

The table follows our Cloudbeds room descriptions, checked on 12 September 2026. These are room types, not a promise of availability for your dates or a count of rooms currently for sale.

Private bedroom or ensuite: what is the difference?

A private room gives your booking its own bedroom. If its name says shared facilities, the bathroom is shared with other guests. Choose the five-person private ensuite if you need the room type with a private bathroom; its listing describes five single beds and a view over the Oude Kerk.

For example, our eight-person private room has four bunk beds and shared facilities. Booking that entire bedroom does not turn it into an ensuite. Likewise, the twin room has two separate single beds, rather than a promised double bed. Check the bed layout as well as the word private before choosing.

How do you reserve a whole room instead of dorm beds?

  1. Enter your actual dates and guest count in our Cloudbeds booking page.
  2. Choose a room explicitly listed as private. A shared dorm listing sells a different accommodation option, even if the room capacity looks similar.
  3. Read the bed layout, bathroom description and rate conditions for the selected option.
  4. Check that the booking summary covers your whole party and the accommodation you want before paying.

Booking several individual dorm beds does not itself guarantee a private room or that separate bookings will be placed together. If you are travelling alone and want a private room, check what the booking system offers for one guest or contact us with your dates. Do not assume the price of a larger private room will be reduced to a single-bed rate.

What should you check before choosing a private room?

We are at Warmoesstraat 87, in Amsterdam’s lively Red Light District, with Slainte Irish Pub next door. A private bedroom provides privacy from other dorm guests; it is not a guarantee of silence. If noise, climbing into an upper bunk or a particular bathroom arrangement matters to you, discuss that requirement with us before booking.

Compare the full price for your dates, the number of guests covered, and the payment and cancellation conditions. We do not quote a fixed nightly private-room price here because the amount must come from the actual booking offer. When booking directly, use our discount code HOSTELAMSTERDAM and check the displayed price and applicable conditions.

For room photographs, visit our room overview. We have a 24-hour front desk; check-in starts at 14:00 and checkout is by 10:00. See our arrival and departure guidance if your travel times fall outside those hours.

Video and older brochure

Video clarification: the older video below mentions around €50–€70 per night and describes a quiet retreat. Those are not current price or quiet-room guarantees. Use the live Cloudbeds offer for your dates and the room distinctions above when deciding.

Our older PDF brochure remains available. Its one-to-five-person summary is incomplete: Cloudbeds also lists larger private options, as shown above. Its general ensuite and amenity wording should not be applied to every private room, and its unsupported 2025 trend statements are not a basis for choosing your accommodation. Use the checked room table and your booking confirmation for the relevant details.
