Most of our listed room types at White Tulip Hostel Amsterdam use shared bathroom facilities. A private bedroom does not automatically include a private bathroom. Our five-person private ensuite is specifically listed with its own bathroom; the twin, triple, quad and six-, eight- and ten-person private options have shared facilities.

Shared facilities or a private bathroom?
Our Cloudbeds room descriptions, checked on 12 September 2026, distinguish between the bedroom type and bathroom arrangement. Shared facilities are used by other guests. A private ensuite belongs to the selected room.
| Room type | Bed layout | Bathroom |
|---|---|---|
| Private twin | 2 single beds | Shared facilities |
| Private triple | 3 single beds | Shared facilities |
| Private 8-person room | 4 bunk beds | Shared facilities |
| Private 5-person ensuite | 5 single beds | Private bathroom |
For the wider breakdown, see which rooms have shared bathrooms. If having your own bathroom is essential, choose an explicitly listed ensuite option and check that it is offered for your dates and guest count.
Are towels provided?
Yes. Our Cloudbeds property terms state that towels are available free from reception. Ask our team for a towel rather than assuming one will already be laid out in your room. Our towel information explains this in more detail.
The free-towel provision does not confirm that every bathroom has toiletries, a hairdryer or other personal-care items. If you need a particular item, check with us before travelling; bring your own essentials if you need certainty.
What should you ask about a specific bathroom?
A short room listing does not establish the precise bathroom location, number of showers or toilets, step-free access, or how many people may share the facilities. Our property terms state that showers and toilets are cleaned multiple times a day, but do not give fixed cleaning times. We avoid promising other details without confirmation for the room concerned.
Contact us with your room name and dates if a particular arrangement affects your choice. Useful questions include whether stairs are involved, where the bathroom is in relation to your room, and whether a required item is provided. Ask before paying if the answer is essential to your stay.
How should you compare and book rooms?
- Enter your actual dates and guest count in Cloudbeds.
- Read the bedroom type and bathroom description separately.
- Check the total price, payment terms and cancellation conditions.
- For direct bookings, enter our discount code HOSTELAMSTERDAM and review the displayed offer before confirming.
Our room photographs can help you compare accommodation, but match them to the option you select. If the description does not answer your bathroom question, contact us rather than assuming all rooms share the same setup.
Video and older PDF information
The existing video introduces our shared-bathroom arrangements. The room examples above give more specific information about the private ensuite option.
Our older PDF brochure contains outdated or unconfirmed details. Towels are free from reception, contrary to its possible-fee wording. Its kitchen and lounge claims are not confirmed by the booking information used here. The property terms do confirm a smoking terrace behind the bar and cleaning of showers and toilets multiple times daily. Use the current room listing and ask us about anything essential to your booking.
